On requesting an appointment for general dental services at Taree Dental Care we kindly ask that you acknowledge the following Terms and Conditions:

Health fund Claiming

If you have dental cover through your health fund, we can claim electronically through HICAPS on your behalf to help obtain any reimbursement due to you. However, we remind you that your specific policy is an agreement between you and your health fund. Please keep in mind that you are responsible for your total obligation should your insurance benefits result in less coverage than anticipated.

Electronic HICAPS claiming must be on the same day the service is provided, so if you forget your card you will need to pay the full account and then contact your health fund for your rebate.

We accept all major dental health funds, but Taree Dental Care is a preferred provider for BUPA and CBHS.  If you belong to one of these preferred funds, please let our staff know as you may be entitled to extra benefits.

Privacy of Information

Taree Dental Care respects your right to privacy and it has systems and processes in place to ensure it complies with the Australian Privacy Principles. This statement is a brief summary of the practice’s privacy policy. The complete policy is available on our website.

Taree Dental Care does not outsource, share or sell any of our patient’s medical records to any unauthorised third parties. We may disclose your health information to other health care professionals, or require it from them if, in our judgement, it is necessary in the context of your health care, and with your consent.

Medical history, treatment records, x-rays and any other material relevant to your care will be stored by the practice. These records remain the property of Taree Dental Care. As part of its electronic records system, the practice relies on storage within Australia offline The practice will ensure that storage complies with obligations under Australian privacy laws.

We are required by Australian regulation to retain your medical records for a period of 7 years after which they are destroyed.

Transfer of Records

If you move dental practices or need to see a specialist, please contact us and we can send your dental records including any x-rays to your nominated practitioner.

Cancellation Policy

We require 48  hours notice should you need to cancel an appointment. We often have patients on standby or in pain wanting to be seen, so we ask that you consider this when you call to cancel or re-schedule.

If you make a time to see us and do not turn up to the appointment with no prior explanation, we will require a small booking deposit to secure the next appointment you make.

Payment

Payment of accounts is strictly pay as you go.  This means if you receive treatment on that day, we expect you to make payment on that day.

There may be procedures that are done over two or three appointments. Payments may be broken up in those instances to be paid over the course of treatment. This must be arranged with the Dentist and/or our Practice Manager.

General

Taree Dental Care also reminds you that any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. If in doubt, before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.

In addition, teeth whitening may not be suitable for all candidates and is treated by decision of the Dentist after an examination.
